Nice playground and a very cool natural play area for kids to interact with nature! There are lots of picnic shelters as well as picnic tables by themselves without a shelter throughout the park. Looks like a good place for camping, although I haven't camped there yet. Not a good place for hiking. There are only a couple trails, and they aren't very long. Good for a short walk, but not good for avid hikers who want something more lengthy.

One of our favorite outdoor escapes. We love watching the elk and bison or playing in the playground.

Beautiful cabins at a price you can't beat. Have stayed with my family in a cabin that sleeps 8 and with some friends in a cabin that slept 6. I like how each cabin has its own canoe. I also enjoyed the walking trail and nature preserve. I would recommend each cabin having its own fire pit in the backyard in addition to the centrally located community fire pit.

Copious signage is needed. Easy to get lost.

We rented shelter #2 for our wedding reception, and the area was lovely. I was a little irritated because the website we used to reserve it had said there would be power, fire pit, shelter, horseshoe area, and a sand volleyball court; however once we got there there was not any power, the horse shoe pit had been dug up/removed, and the fire pit were several park grills. The area was quite lovely, and their were bathrooms right near by which made it convenient for party goers. I just wish their reservation website had more accurate information.

The archaeology dig is special. Great, even. And the secret nature trail. The wildlife is great to experience, but they need much more space.
